The delicacy and detail of this lovely garnish caught my eye. I popped it into my purse and brought it home. I love to experiment photographically, and the result this time defies gravity on my kitchen counter!

Strong morning sunshine splits into shafts, giving the appearance of fog emanating from the branches above.

A year ago, in another forest in a far off land, bamboo spires etch themselves against background fog.

Yesterday morning a beautiful fog line defined my horizon. As I went to grab my camera, the freighter "Tokyo Marine" slowly emerged as an apparition following the fog line, soon disappearing again.

More evidence of our damp climate! These roadside visitors seem to pop-up spontaneously and disappear just as quickly. They make me smile - they're so determined in spite of the weather.

It has been raining since Thanksgiving - two weeks without respite, or it feels like that anyway. Somewhat dejectedly, I set off to walk Tiger, our dog. On these drenched days it's tempting to leave my camera at home, but I try to remind myself that there is magic even in the rain. Today I found it in a mud-puddle.

"They" say, "Shoot what you know". Well, these days, we know rain! And it's nice to stay dry and shoot through the windshield.

This is my first time to blog and I chose this photo taken during my initial photo workshop in Santa Fe. I was learning to evaluate my images, and my teacher loved this one. I love it too.
